Meet the Team
Say hello to the Sweat Squad!
Sarah De Lucca
Owner. Head Coach. Kinesiologist.
Growing up, I always loved being on a team, and while I was no Christine Sinclair on the soccer field, I found my true calling in leading my team’s conditioning sessions.
As a young adult, I struggled with an eating disorder. In recovery, I discovered the healing power of movement, and for the first time in my life I felt strong in my body and mind. This feeling inspired me to combine my passions of movement and science into a career as a kinesiologist, where I help others harness the power of movement to transform their lives.
When I am not at the gym training others, I can be found on the Seawall training for my next triathlon, walking in the forest, or snowboarding at Whistler.
Today, I’m honoured to guide clients toward their fitness goals, sharing my passion for movement and fostering empowerment every step of the way.
Kelly Hellman
Kinesiologist.
Kelly's passion for sports and human movement developed from her love for the outdoors and nature. Born and raised in the Kootenays, Nelson, B.C., she grew up in the mountains, skiing, paddling, and hiking. This early connection to nature led her to pursue a degree in Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia.
She has a strong interest in holistic well-being, movement science, and the mind-body connection, particularly in using movement to improve overall well-being and resolve pain. She believes in empowering her patients by providing them with the knowledge and confidence to take control of their health and move with ease.
With a background in competitive sports, Kelly played junior, varsity, and elite-level golf throughout Canada and the U.S.A. In her personal time, when she is not in the mountains, you will find her immersed in the world of triathlon—spending her free time swimming, biking, and running through beautiful Vancouver.
Whether you’re looking to improve athletic performance, recover from pain, or simply move better in everyday life, Kelly is passionate about helping people live their healthiest life through a science based holistic approach.
Allen Carpio
Kinesiologist.
Allen Carpio holds a Kinesiology degree from the University of British Columbia. As a recreational athlete, he has a keen interest in basketball and hockey. Allen is passionate about working with athletes who aim to improve in their chosen sports simply for the love of the game. Pursuing performance gains in strength and skill deeply engages him as a trainer, challenging him to continually learn about various sports and their specific requirements, which brings vibrant energy to his training sessions. He values effort above all, appreciating clients who show up consistently, regardless of their intensity level. Beyond his training endeavors, Allen operates a local run club open to all levels, partnering with charities such as PHS and Covenant House for annual running events. He firmly believes that alternative punk rock from the golden era of 2007 deserves continued appreciation.
Alyssa Thornborrow
